Akiport

Akiport.com adventure started on 12 of November 2009 two good friends Natural from the Island of Madeira Portugal living in Oxford, (Aldonio Gois and Narciso Goncalves) decided to join the internet market by launching Akiport.com the first Oxfordshire online shop selling and delivering Portuguese and Brazilian products to the customer doors. It proven to be a successful launch by Christmas 2009 we had a good number of orders on a daily basis but most of the customers kept asking us to open a coffee place & deli in Oxford.
.......Search for a place......
It took a few weeks to search for an available shop premises in Oxford that could accommodate a cafe deli and most important in a Portuguese cafe,to be licensed to serve alcohol.

After noticing this empty small shop in the main access rd to Oxford city center we concluded that this place had a major potential to be our first "base".
......The big day.......
4th of April 2010 a new Portuguese and Brazilian landmark point is born in Oxford Akiport Shop & Cafe opens his doors to the Public.
1st of September 2010 Narciso Goncalves due to a new personal commitment sells his 50% share in Akiport to Sergio Gois.
..........the First year.......
One year open and Akiport Shop & Cafe becomes a reference business point among the Portuguese and Brazilian community as well a to the local community that nicked named us as the local foreign tavern.
1st of September 2013 Anabela Pestana a well known Portuguese citizen resident in Oxford becomes the Akiport manager for a period of two years.
14th of November 2014 Akiport takes over Sanaa Store next door to Akiport cafe making way to Akiport Convenience Store.
31st of August 2015 Akiport cafe gives up the deli department to Akiport Convenience Store making it a greater and more comfortable space with traditional Portuguese cakes sandwiches and drinks. Akiport Convenience Store becomes a mini market selling a mix of general convenience store, Portuguese Brazilian and South american products.
1st of February 2016 Mariela Pestana and Felipe Dinis become managers of Akiport Cafe giving it a new image with a new food menu.
